Rotarserver April 25 2018 A PEEK INTO THE FUTURE OF OUR ENVIRONMENT
Recorded by Suzanne Ferguson who apologies for any errors or omissions.
Dave Moffatt presented problems for us because of Global Warming and Associated Carbondioxide buildup.
Dave also spoke about Project Drawdown and some of the things they suggest we do to mitigate Global Warming.
Drawdown is the point in time when the concentration of atmospheric greenhouse gases begins to decline on a year-to-year basis.
We all hope that time comes before catastrophe comes to us. (comments by Stew)

Davey Moffatt recently attended a conference on the environment.  He shared the information with us concerning  environment and global warming and had a terrific slide presentation re same.    Lots of issues done being shallower water in ocean so heat goes deeper causing gas to rise.  As ice melts water rises --flooding coastal areas.
Davey read an article in 2012 and has been interested in learning more ever since.
European nations seem to have a better idea of conserving than North America.  China working diligently to get off fossil fuels.
A major problem are stranded assets – i.e. coal plants no longer in production.
As individuals you can keep educated of problems and make homes etc. efficient and use government incentives for smart thermostats etc.  Reduce paper towel usage, low flow shower, and many other things individuals needs to be trying to reduce.
Stew thanked Davey.  Mike asked Davey for a copy of his power point.
