4Noc20 ZoomVideo- DG David Elliot
Announcements
Present: Nancy, Connie, Gerry, Catharine, Stew, Trish, Malcolm, Bill, Trudy, Ron. Maggie was a guest.

Very Sad news: Wayside Dining Lounge is closed because of COVID. At this point, there is no talk of re-opening and therefore in the future, the club may be looking for a different meeting place when we can meet in person again.

There will not be a Club meeting 11Nov20. We are free to participate personally in Remembrance Day activities.

Please see the link to District 6330 for events on the 9th and 10th of Nov 2020: https://rotary6330.org/events/calendar The zoom on the 9th is regarding membership - an important focus for us. The event on 10th is the District Remembrance day Zoom. Both are webinars. Nancy requested stories of Veterans that we can share with District 6330.

Connie- is doing her own personal Tour of Homes by decorating her new home. She will give us a tour one of these days.

Malcolm finds the Zoom method helpful because names go with faces. He walks on the elevated park. The 50 Rust family history books will come from the publisher soon; they are meant for family, but Malcolm will take requests and plans to have one copy in circulation for those interested in reading. Malcolm asks us to consider what is happening with the South London RC https://rotarylondonsouth.ca/ . The Sonia Uribe International Service Columbia event is 20Nov20 7:30 AM https://rotarylondonsouth.ca/event/sonia-uribe-international-service--columbia/

Gerry's family in Holland is also doing a family history book. Of note in the book is that 9 Canadians died liberating their town of origin during WW11.

Catharine is willing to do a presentation regarding the BRACA shirts that she is marketing. She will donate $10 to the Club from the sale of each shirt.

Nancy: She and Gerry are looking for input on David Elliott's forwarded questions (to be sent to club members). We would like some discussion before DG David Elliott's virtual visit. If members have questions or concerns for the Area Assistance Governor's meeting coming up, please contact Nancy.

Please see the link to the presentation from our District Governor, David Elliot:

Gerry spoke about the need to get our usual budgeted Christmas donations out to Christmas Care, the St. Thomas- Elgin Food Bank, and the Salvation Army. He will speak to Mary, our treasurer.

Malcolm reminded us that we usually hold the RC of St. Thomas Foundation AGM in November.  Gerry will discuss the scheduling with Trudy and Barbara.
