District Governor Katherine Hahn of the Rotary Club of Stratford make her official visit to the club on Wednesday. President Mark Holmes presided.
Katherine was excited to ring the bell to start the meeting as her term as President of her club was served during covid and consisted of Zoom meetings so she never did get to ring the bell. She did a fine job of it.
The Board met with DG Katherine at 11am and reviewed what the club has done in the past year. It always impresses both the DG and the club board when we realize just how much has been accomplished.
A main focus of her presentation to the club were the questions "What? How? Why?" does our organization exist. The Why is most important and can be answered by the Rotary Vision Statement: Together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change — across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
The theme for this Rotary year is "The Magic of Rotary".
DG Katherine was please that we recite and know the 4-Way Test. Only by embracing and living the 4-Way Test can we be sure that we are making the right decisions.
There is a new What's App for the District, allowing communities within our district to chat together, ie. Presidents, Secretaries, etc.
We are invited to join the rest of the District to celebrate at the District Conference in Stratford, May 2-4, 2025.
DG Katherine also closed our meeting with the ringing of the bell. We are in good hands for the next year with Katherine at the helm.
