ROTASERVER June 19, 2019 President-elect Gerry welcomed everyone to the meeting, with a special welcome for Bill Horn who had just received word from his doctor that he is OK to drive again! Way to go Bill! The District 6330 Conference took place in Kincardine, last Friday and Saturday. Seven club members (and spouses) and four interactors represented our club: see the pictures that were posted on the Club and Interactor Facebook pages. Organization is well under way for next year’s conference on June 19-21 in Southampton. Next week will be the changeover meeting at Merriview, 6331 Fairview Road, starting at 5:30 p.m. We are all praying for good weather! Please forward suggestions for speakers/events to Barb Warnock The following motions were proposed at the meeting: that Mary Morin be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of St. Thomas in the position of Treasurer; that the cost of our meals at the Wayside Dining Lounge be increased from $13 to $15 effective July 1, 2019; and that Connie Davidson be appointed to the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of St. Thomas in the position of Community Director. Members who weren’t present are asked to vote by email on these motions. Nancy Lovelock spoke passionately about the world refugee crisis and auctioned off two Rotary bags and donated the funds, which she doubled with a personal contribution, to the United Nations Directorate for Refugees. In addition, the happy fins for today were added to this donation. Nancy also reported that the YTD club donations amounted to $5,034 for the annual fund, and $1,557 to Polio Plus.
