Malcolm's report: A good attendance.
There was applause when the Ukrainian family arrived. See pic below: They were warmly welcomed. Alex and Yulia with 4 yr old daughter. They live in the basement apartment (garage man door and down stairs) at 14 Oxford Terrace St Thomas N5R 0K2. Later in the meeting they shared some information about their family story and answered lots of questions. They have a car. Both parents have university degrees. Alex will attend Fanshawe St Thomas for one year and apprentice as an engineer. Yulia will help daughter settle into JK after the trauma of life in Ukraine. Then she will look for work in business.
They have an appointment with a settlement officer next week at the YW CA. President Mark asked Adriana to work with other local service clubs on a shared project.
Yellow shirts will be worn at Bingo until the end of September then blue.
President Mark won the 50/50 and gave his winnings to Yulia's daughter.
No club meeting next week.
