Our guest today was Mark Wales, CPA. During the AGM of the Foundation, Mark reviewed the financial statements for the Foundation 2018-2019 year, ending June 30, 2019.

Wed 11Dec19, Trudy, Adriana and the Interact Club members will receive the Civic Youth Team award from the city of St. Thomas at the 46^th annual Civic Honour Awards and Dinner. The event will be at the St Thomas Elgin Public Art Centre. Tickets are available at Parks and Recreation office at the Joe Thorton Community Centre. CONGRATULATIONS!

President Gerry announced that Margaret Thacker, wife of PDG Bert Thacker passed away Monday 18 November 2019. Ron asked us to remember that she, along with Shirley Smith, instigated the first Tour of Homes 24 years ago.

President Gerry displayed a $20,000 cheque from Faye Ferguson in remembrance of her husband Kenneth Ferguson for the Rotary Club of St. Thomas Foundation. The club is especially appreciative.

Presiding at the AGM of the Rotary Club of St Thomas Foundation was Trudy Kanellis, Foundation President.

That meeting went very smoothly and President Gerry returned to the podium. The 50/50 award was drawn by Trudy and presented to Trudy. This was not an inside job!

Fine Master Mary asked if anyone knew the slogan of the Salvation Army Christmas Kettle campaign was. Not surprisingly, no one knew. Apparently the slogan was “Keep the pot burning”. In 1891, Capt McPhee of San Francisco, collected money in a pot at the harbour. Proceeds went toward a meal for the poor.
