Next week’s Rotary Club meeting is at Trudy’s yard in Talbotville – remember your lunch and lawn chair, hat and sunscreen! Parking is at her home or the restaurant parking lot.  No meeting August 4th.  On August 10th, we will meet at Waterworks Park.

HIPPO Rollers
Nancy spoke about a Rotary initiative that is spreading world-wide.  These devices are in use in communities where fresh water has to be hauled by hand from a distance.  The drum roller holds a day’s water for a family. They are designed to be used by both youngsters and seniors and are suitable to carry water over rough terrain.

General Discussions

  1. Travel to other countries and Covid vaccines.  It seems that if your vaccine has not been accepted in the country to which you are travelling, you may be denied entry.
  2. Charging stations for electric vehicles. There are differing types of stations – slow overnight chargers or quick charge.  In addition, the stations are not plentiful yet.  Not all stations accept every vehicle.  In St. Thomas, there is one behind the railway station and one behind Fanshawe College (which is currently out of use).  In Aylmer, there in one in the municipal parking lot across from the Old Town Hall.
