of a heart attack

Ron started the meeting by promoting his key chains for sale. They can carry small pills like low dose 81mg Aspirin that can be used to prevent a heart attack in an emergency. Cost is $5 each and $2 from each sale goes to Interactors. Contact Ron to place your order.
Due to an email communication error, the guest speaker for today was not available. Bill Horn graciously presented an introduction to his recent trip to Israel. His map highlighted the main areas of his visit. The Golan Heights have recently been in the news and Bill's map showed the territory in dispute. For those who are thinking to go for a pilgrimage, he recommended to stay away from popular tourist sites like the Church of the Nativity. Tourism is a big business there as demonstrated by the number of tours. Old Jerusalem appears unchanged from the days of Christ.
Trish re TOH
Trudy reminded us of the Home Show coming up this weekend. She has placed members for all time slots on the schedule to man the Interactors booth there. Pony Poopin' Bingo tickets will be sold as well as giving away mini cookies.
Visitors today were Kathy Willson, Maggie Horn, Debbie Chappelle.
Jennifer reported that a washer and dryer was purchased by our club and delivered today to Grace Café.
Re the Peter Mansbridge visit to the Chamber of Commerce 9May19, one table from the club has been arranged. We are looking for others to fill a second table. This is a wonderful way for club members to network in the community. Trudy is catering. Also from the Chamber: they have inexpensive tickets for a trip to Morrocco.
Trudy has talked to Sandy Westaway from Inn out of the Cold about cots for them. Doug Burnard from the district has agreed that our District Grant application to cover 1/3 the cost is likely to be approved. More info is coming 1Apr19. The District Grant if approved will provide additional cots for Inn Out of the Cold than we were initially planning to purchase.
Trish reported an address error in the tickets for the Chocolate Extravaganza 13 May19 and handed out new tickets. If you have tickets to sell that were distributed March 20, 2019, PLEASE CHANGE THE ADDRESS OF COLUMBUS CLUB TO 265 WELLINGTON.
Ron won the 50/50 draw.
Fine Master was Stewart who asked how old Rotary is; Trudy quickly stated it started 1905. Stew showed a picture in the anniversary Rotarian of President Kennedy speaking to Rotarians in Hyannis, Mass. Stew also reported on the “Seven Women” project in Nepal started by Stephanie Wollard from Melbourne, Australia.
