8 members including Barbara met in her lovely backyard in Aylmer plus Trudy via Zoom. Barbara blessed us with limeade, lemonade and fresh fruit and ice cream for dessert. We shared stories of significance, come and join us at a Rotary Meeting.See Pic above.
Barbara presented the 100% Paul Harris banner to President Mark.  This was awarded to the Club for the 2022-23 year and presented at the recent District Conference, which was attended by Barbara, Cindy, Gerry and Catharine. See pic above.
 
Announcements
Gerry drew our attention to our advertisement for the Rotary Discovery Tour in the Day Tripper on page 57.
 
The Car Show last weekend did not have too many cars, likely due to threat of rain.  Thanks to those who attended to represent our club. 
 
Mark and Trudy are bringing proposals requesting funds to the Board meeting of August 14th.  
 
Trudy announced that the grant for Dictionary Project has been approved from the District.  
 
Trudy thanked Mark and Cindy and Ron for sponsoring her 125 km ride in August.
 
Malcolm presented 4 thank you notes from Scholarship winners at the St. Thomas Music Festival this year.  They will be forwarded to Trudy, as the funds for those Scholarships came from club funds. 
 
Malcolm sold his first Rotary Discovery Tour ticket! He suggested we request to attend a meeting of the St. Thomas Railway City Rotary Club to sell tickets.  
 
Ukrainian family – Barbara announced that they flew to Toronto and are staying in London at hotel for a month.  Currently they are looking for rental accommodation and a car.  Alex will be studying at Fanshawe.  Yullia will be working and their daughter will attend kindergarten.  Barbara will try to get a list of what household goods are needed for them to get settled and will forward to our club members.  
 
Malcolm gave an update on Gerald Vreman’s recovery. Gerald remains at STEGH at present. In her email, Meaghan mentioned how grateful they are for the support shown by so many people.
 
Upcoming Meetings
The next meeting Wednesday July 26 at Cindy’s, wait for the Zoom notice with address.  Cindy requests us to wear our yellow shirts and Robert will take some photos. 
August 2nd meeting will be held at Pinafore Park
August 9th there is no meeting
August 16th meeting will be held at Trudy and Nick’s in Talbotville.  Bring your brown bag and lawn chair.  
August 26th Stew will host at rooftop patio.
